Nexus Agriscience develops the genetics, technologies, and ecosystem that let industrial hemp supply natural ingredients for flavor, fragrance, and functional products at the price of the synthetics they replace.

Petroleum still sets the price.

Consumers and brands want natural ingredients, and America still makes its flavors, fragrances, and specialty chemicals from petroleum because the synthetic versions cost less. We build every Nexus ingredient to meet that price.

The plant

Prohibition’s unintended consequence.

Industrial hemp makes a wide range of compounds that flavor, fragrance, and functional products already use. From 1937 until the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills, the law kept breeders away from the plant, so its chemistry was never pushed. We find the compounds that matter and breed them from trace levels to industrial concentrations, where they compete with petrochemical incumbents on price.

A circular supply chain.

Circular supply chain in stipple: hemp grown and bottled as natural ingredients, steam distilled in a farm-scale plant, and spent plant material returned to the soil as nutrients that feed the next crop

Grow

Growers can plant our genetics wherever farming exists, starting in California.

Process

We process it through domestic facilities that already stand, from underused botanical extraction sites to industrial purification and refining.

Return

What remains of the plant goes back to the soil as organic matter.
